Art Gallery
The art gallery exhibits permanently exact original size casts, certified by the Italian government, of the three most important works of Michelangelo Buonarroti: The David, La Pietà and Moses.
All of them are identical to the original, built with 80% of marble dust and 20% of acrylic resin. You can also see photographic reproductions of sketches and paintings, and accurate replicas of the tools that the author used.
500 years ago, with a burin and a hammer, Michelangelo carved on a block of marble the David that he imagined, that is currently located in the Academy of Florence.
In the year 1501 Michelangelo carved, on a block of Carrara marble, La Pietà. The original can be found in the Vatican.
The original is located in Rome, at San Pietro church in Vincoli. It was carved by Michelangelo around the year 1500 on a solid block of Carrara marble.
